Op donderdag 14 mei om 20:00 uur (Nederlandse tijd) gaan we een live meeting houden via een livevideo (alleen de spreker heeft zijn camera aan) op FB in onze privégroep.
Als je wilt deelnemen aan deze bijeenkomst of andere bijeenkomsten in de toekomst en je bent een biculturele LHBTQI+ persoon, word dan lid van onze privégroep. Klik op onderstaande link.

Deze keer is het een live meeting met Axmed Maxamed. Axmed is een queer diaspora Somalische activist, organisator en muziek nerd. Axmed is mede-oprichter van Dance with Pride, een queer initiatief dat zich richt op het ophalen van geld voor queer initiatieven. Axmed is ook begonnen met het opschrijven van de geschiedenis en huidige verhalen van Queer Somaliërs. Hieronder in het Engels meer informatie over Axmed en hun werk. Axmed zal donderdag zichzelf voorstellen, het hebben over het werk dat zij doen en jullie vragen beantwoorden.
Deze live meeting wordt in het Engels gehouden.
Wij zijn nog bezig met het regelen voor vertalers (ook voor de toekomstige live meetings) die tijdens de meeting in de comment gedeelte de grote lijnen kunnen vertalen en de vragen/opmerkingen vanuit de bezoekers. Laat het ons weten welke vertaling jij nodig hebt.

This time Axmed Maxamed will be our host. Axmed is a Queer Diasporic Somali activist, organizer and music nerd. Axmed is co-founded of Dancewith Pride, a queer initiative which aims to re-unify dance music with its queer roots and raise money for grass roots queer initiatives with their fund-raiser parties and sales of the Dance with Pride T-shirts. In addition to that Axmed is involved in other queer initiatives, with focus on QTIBPOC and recently co-curated the music compilation Place: The Netherlands which raises funds for and awareness around LGBTQIA+ refugees. Together with Ladan Maandeeq, Axmed also started working on 'Queer Somali presents and pasts: storytelling and archival research' which will focus on digitally archiving the lives of Queer Somalis in the diaspora and Somalia, both in the present day and the past.
This live meeting will be held in English.We are still in the process of arranging translators (also for future live meetings) who can now translate the main lines and questions/comments from the visitors in the comment section.
